This company, with registered headquarters in Ribeira, Spain, is engaged in the production, processing and marketing of frozen sea food products. It was founded in 1961 under its first name Frigoraficos del Noroeste S.A. (North West Refrigerators Ltd) and was incorporated in the form of Sociedad anonima in September 1961. In addition, the company is involved in other activities such as ship consignment and co-generation of energy; and made-to-measure production. The company's canned and frozen products are sold under major brand names which include Ona, Sagres, Ribeira, Saivora, Yellowdog and Frinosa. Its factories are: FRINSA No. 1, alongside the cities fishing port; FRINSA No. 2, which houses the cleaning and canning lines as well as laboratories, offices and areas dedicated to the development of new products; and serves as the energy co-generation plant, FRINSA No. 3, which, with its 14 Megawatts of power, produces electrical and thermic energy for the company's own use while remaining completely environment-friendly; and FRINSA No. 4, new plant which produces pet food.
